Simple
stiffness and pain of the neck (one or both sides) and it's associated
limitation of movement can often be relieved by a few simple exercises:
- Roll the
head half way round, stop, and then roll it the other way
- Pull the
chin down as far as possible – at the same time stretch the back of the
neck
- Tip the
head to one side and stretch the neck cords as tight as possible. Repeat
on other side
If you
suspect the stiffness is due to cramping try these:
- Apply a hot
pack to the neck (or take a hot shower)
- Gentle
massage can often help
